Subject POSt Enrolment: Bioinformatics & Computational Biology

St. George campus, Arts & Science students are required to enrol in subject POSt(s) at the end of the session in which they complete their fourth full-course equivalent. Students can only enrol in subject POSts offered on the St. George campus.

You must enrol in the minimum appropriate combination of subject POSts for your degree before your course enrolment period starts, or you will be prevented from enrolling in courses on ROSI.

If you intend to complete the Honours Bachelor of Arts or Honours Bachelor of Science (Hon. B.A. or Hon. B.Sc.) degree, you must be enrolled in either one specialist, two majors, or one major + two minors. Please note that you can enrol in no more than three subject POSts, of which only two can be majors or specialists.

How and when to enrol in the Bioinformatics & Computational Biology specialist

The Bioinformatics & Computational Biology specialist is a Type 1S program. It does not have requirements for entry into the program other than successful completion of 4.0 full-course equivalents. No application is required.

To enrol, log on to ROSI at www.rosi.utoronto.ca and select “subject POSts” from the main menu. Select “add a subject POSt” and enter the subject code:

  • ASSPE1868 for the Specialist in Bioinformatics & Computational Biology

After you confirm the addition, ROSI will display the message: "You have successfully add the following subject POSts", and will list the subject POSt code and title. The status field will read "ACTIVE – You are enrolled in this subject POSt" if the enrolment was successful. If the enrolment was not successful, you will see the message: "A problem was encountered" with details about the error.

The following enrolment dates apply to the Bioinformatics & Computational Biology specialist:
  • July 2 - first day to enrol on ROSI
  • September 27 - last day to enrol on ROSI

IMPORTANT NOTES

Students enrolled in the Bioinformatics & Computational Biology pay higher fees. See Academic Fees for Commerce, Computer Science, Bioinformatics & Computational Biology, or Concurrent Teacher Education Subject POSts for details.

If you are registered in the 2015 Summer session, and accept an invitation to the Bioinformatics & Computational Biology specialist during the summer or later, your fees in the 2015 Summer session will be affected. See Academic Fees for Commerce, Computer Science, Bioinformatics & Computational Biology, or Concurrent Teacher Education Subject POSts for details.
